Gerri Grooms

Gerri Grooms, 57, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born May 20, 1957, in Huntington, daughter of the late Stanley and Florence Roberts Grooms. She was employed as a clerk at CSX Transportation in Huntington. Gerri was a 1975 graduate of Huntington East High School and had attended Christ Temple Church, Huntington. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Grooms Jr. Surviving are her son, Scott Alan Rutherford of Lawrence, Kansas; a brother, James 'Chip' Grooms; a sister, Joyce Bailey of Huntington; nieces and nephews Angel Phillips and her husband Ricky, Jordan Phillips, Brooke, Justin and Ricky Jr. Phillips, and Chris Bailey. Her step-mother, Alice Grooms of Huntington, also survives. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington.
