Vera Kathyrn Salmons

Vera Kathryn Salmons, 90, of Ceredo, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 19th at 2 P.M. at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Minister John Holland officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 prior to services. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. She was the daughter of Henry Levi and Ruby (Hinchman) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her daughters: Mary A. Salmons and Helen Ferguson; and son, John T. Salmons and her brother, Donald B. Johnson. Vera was the Valedictorian of the Ceredo-Kenova High School Class of 1941, a member of the First Baptist Church of Kenova, a member of the Marcum Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and a Charter member of the Hinchman Heritage Society. She retired as a secretary for Terminix and then retired from the Wayne County Community Services at the age of 83. She is survived by her sons: James H. Salmons of Washington and William T. Salmons of Oklahoma and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a host of friends and her sisters of the Eastern Star. Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
