Bernard Lee Gray, 90, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 20, 2025.  He was born July 12, 1934 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Carrie Lee Miliam Gray and Oscar William Gray.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jewell Gray whom he loved so dearly and his step sons Allen Insco and Chuck Henson.  He was a loving father to his daughter "Sis" Vanessa (Lee) Mills of East Lynn, WV and son Danny (Becky) Thompson of Huntington, WV.  He was the best "Papaw" ever to Aaron (Shelby) Mills of Louisville, KY, Ashlee (Brad) Peterman of Ft. Gay, WV, Haylee (Cole) Mills of Irvine, KY and Donovan Thompson of Huntington, WV.  Two special great grandchildren who were his world Josiah Peterman and Madeline "Hip Hop" Mills.  He was a 1952 Graduate of Huntington East High School.  Bernie was a proud Veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 16 of Huntington and VFW Post 1064 of Huntington.  He was a member of Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church.  Bernie was a member of the National Street Rod Association and founding member of the Jewel City Street Rod Association of Huntington. He retired after 37 years working for Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Huntington, WV.  He leaves behind special friends Marie and Rex Stickler, Kenny and Jessie Collins, Jack and Nancy Canterbury, Roger Williams, Dale Adkins, Pastor Kim Stone and a host of Antiques Car Family, neighbors and friends.  Special thanks also to the Huntington VA staff, Kimberly Sammons and Kaylyn Williams for all their loving care.  Additional special thank you to Hospice of Huntington for all of their care including his special caregivers Lisa Nance and Angie Arrowood, whom he loved so much.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.  Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 am Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jody Fortner.  Commital service with military graveside rights conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard of Huntington will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.  Pallbearers will be Aaron Mills, Brad Peterman, Josiah Peterman, Cole Willis, Adam Saguansin and Larry "Bo" Morris.  Reger Funeral Home, Huntington is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences may be made at www.regerfh.com.
