Carl R Edwards, Sr

Carl Reed Edwards Sr., 86, of Kenova went to be with the lord on May 11, 2006 at St. Mary�s Medical Center in Huntington. He was born September 12, 1919 a son to the late Charles and Arbutus (Cyrus) Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Lee Niece Edwards, a son, Daniel Lynn Edwards, a great grandson Tanner Edwards, two brothers and four sisters. Mr. Edwards was a World War II Veteran having served in Army Corps of Engineers. During his time serving our Nation he received numerous Campaign Metals. Mr. Edwards was a member of the American Legion Post #93 in Kenova and the Daniel Lynn Edwards VFW Post #8429 in Ceredo which is named after his son. He is survived by his wife Wanda L. Edwards, a son Carl Reed Edwards Jr., two daughters, Linda McCloud and Brenda Stender, eight grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and one great great grandson along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm Monday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Gibson and Rev. Scott Byard officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and Military Graveside Rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #93 in Kenova. Burial will follow in the Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.
