Carol Corynne Crossan, 85, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hopsice House of Huntington. Carol was born June 11, 1940, in Huntington, to the late Thomas Carmyne and Sara Allen Crossan. She lived her entire life in the family home that she and her siblings grew up in. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1959, Carol began working for Logan's Packing Company, then went to work in banking, first at First Huntington National Bank, and then to The Security Bank on 1st Street and 6th Avenue, where she was a bookkeeper in Operations. She continued to work with The Security Bank, and the banks that purchased the facility, always remaining at the First Street location. She retired from BB&T after more than 30 years in banking.
Carol was an avid reader and a great historian of the Allen and Crossan family tree. She always kept up with all branches of the family tree, no matter how far reaching it became. She enjoyed keeping up with people through social media, and her posts, observations and comments were always enjoyable. Her personality was far bigger than her less than 5-foot frame. She was always an inquisitive person, and any interaction would be met with a lot of questions. She loved her cats and fish that were her companions. She was a uniquely kind soul, and strongly dedicated to her Catholic faith.
Carol was preceded in death by her nephew Thomas Scott Crossan and great nephew Jonathon Edward Dement. She is survived by her brothers, Thomas (Thomasine) and Emer (Teresa) and her sister Betty Craig (widower of Chuck). Carol also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, who Aunt Carol always made sure to maintain a close relationship with: Anna Crossan Dunlap (Pete), Amy Crossan (Mel Miller), Lisa Crossan Fedczak (Steve), David Wayne Crossan (Rebecca), Andrea Crossan, Dana (Tootie) Ferguson-Robinson (Jeremy) and Daniel Ferguson, II, Angela Craig Dement, Lori Craig and Jennifer Craig, and grand and great grand nieces, Olivia and Emma Elkins (from niece Anna Dunlap), Michael Allen Crossan (Amanda) and Vincent Jude Crossan, Ashley Nicole Crossan, Chase and Chance Leow, Meghan Fedczak, Mason Witt, Rowyn Leek, (from niece Lisa Fedczak), David Ryan Crossan, Dylan Thomas Crossan (Caitlin), Grayson Thomas Crossan, Danika Jolee Crossan, Hayden Holmes (Sofia), Brooke Staton (Austin), Iliava May Staton (from nephew David Crossan), Riley Emerson Glover and Maximus Bennett (from niece Andrea Crossan), Katherine Dement, Hanna, Sadie, Vada, Cash and Lillian Dement (from niece Angela Dement), Alex, T.J. and Stormi Eastham (from niece Jennifer Craig).
