Casey Nicole Wilson (Rowland)

Casey Nicole Wilson of Proctorville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 15th, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Casey was born in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Thomas Rowland and Norma Blair Rowland of Poca, West Virginia. She was a lifelong and devoted fan of the University of Kentucky basketball and proudly “bled blue.” Casey found joy in life’s simple pleasures—Disney, shopping, traveling to new places, visiting Amish Country, and enjoying her favorite snacks. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with the people she loved.

Casey is survived by her best friend and loving husband of fifteen years, David Wilson of Proctorville, Ohio. Casey made a positive impact on David's children, Taelor Harshbarger (Jacob) and Justin Wilson, through her love and encouragement. Casey was “Gigi” to Taelor's (Jacob) children, Mina, Maeven, and Marcella.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandparents, Dimple “Gran” and Isaac “Pop” Rowland of Meally, Kentucky, and Betty Blair of Paintsville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Leon Blair. Casey deeply loved her pets—her cats Annie, Jack, and Grayson, and her loyal dog, Ollie—who were constant companions.

In 2020, Casey received the gift of life through a kidney transplant from her coworker and dear friend, Veronica Fickett. Her family will forever be grateful for Veronica’s extraordinary act of love and sacrifice.

Casey had the brightest smile and a warmth that made everyone feel welcome. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and cared for. She believed deeply in others, always offering encouragement and second chances. She was a steady source of strength, compassion, and love to her family, friends, and coworkers.

For 23 years, Casey dedicated her professional life to Choice Care At Home, where she served as Program Director of the Huntington office. She was a compassionate leader with an open door and an open heart, always willing to listen and help others grow. Her work was more than a career—it was her calling.

Casey was a graduate of Marshall University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She was also a faithful and active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Barboursville, West Virginia.

Casey will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Casey's Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tom Burnside.  A visitation will precede  the service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Reger Funeral Home.  Inurnment will follow services in Rome Proctorville Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to her family at www.regerfh.com.
