Dale Fields

Dale Cecil Fields, age 84, died peacefully at home on April 28, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents (Kermit and Lorraine) and his brother (Jerry). He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1959 and retired from Armco Steel after working as a yardmaster for more than 30 years. Dale will be remembered for his quiet strength and steady presence. He loved fishing, reading, woodworking, and gardening. Dale filled his family's home with his creations. You could always find him in his building, playing cards on the computer, or tending his garden. No one grew a better sunflower or tomato. Above all, Dale was devoted to his family who brought him great pride and joy. He married his highschool sweetheart, and life-long love, Linda Gail Fields. Together they built a life and happily shared 64 years side-by-side. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their 4 children Jim Fields (Laurie), Cathy Leichner (Fritz), John Fields (Cheryl), Lori Jude (David) as well as his sisters, Ida Napier and Sue Seicrist (Tom), and brother Steve Fields (Judy). He also is survived by his 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren: Corey Kinney, Laura Danielle Thompson (Elizabeth, Laken, and Ryan), Cameron Leaver (Eli and Carson), Paige Leaver (Clark and Jude), Michael Heath Fields, Chase Marcum, Gabbie Comfort (Isla Brynn), Ashley Fields (Xander), Jessie Fields, Amy Jude, and Ben Jude. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Reger Funeral Home, 1242 Adams Avenue, Huntington, West Virginia 25704.
