Dixie Lee Smith Lucas

Dixie Lee Smith Lucas, 96, of Huntington, WV, widow of Ervin "Cheese" Lucas, Jr. passed away Wednesday October 28, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Sunshine Free Will Baptist Church, Huntington, by Pastor Jody Fortner.  Graveside committal service will be on Monday at 10 am at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.  She was born August 17, 1930 in West Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Marion and Willa Mae Thornton Smith.  Dixie was a seamstress.  She was a member of Sunshine Free Will Baptist Church along with be a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a grandson Scott Fowler; great grandson Devon Fulks and her siblings Nelwyn Smith, Christine Kohler, Sybil Bartels and Jim Smith.  Survivors include her children Stella Fowler, Larry Lucas, Brenda Meredith (Eddie), Diana Smith and John Lucas (Susan); grandchildren Natalie Fowler, Amber Fowler, Caroline Glancey, Colleen James, Drew Lucas, Staci Wren, Brad Meredith, Megan Smith, Patrick Lucas and Mark Lucas; great grandchildren Jacob Thompson, Shawn Fowler, Christian Fowler, Amelia Glancey, Liam Glancey, Layla Knopke, Gabe James, Alex Karres, Kylie Karres, CJ Meredith, Sydney Meredith and Jayse Meredith; great great grandchild Cyrus Holbrook; brother in law Talmadge Adkins; sister in law Margaret Hookingshead (Gary) and special friend Kenny Bolen.  Friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm Saturday at the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church.  Reger Funeral Home, Huntington is assisting the family with arrangements.
