Eddie Donald Adkins, husband of Cherylene (Craft) Adkins of Prichard, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026. He was born on May 20, 1939 in Kenova, W.Va., a son of the late Edgar and Edna (Chambers) Adkins. Preceeding him in death was his first wife, Barbara (Daniels) Adkins and their son, Robert Adkins; his sisters, Jessie Napier and Juanita Ferguson. In addition to his wife Cherylene he is survived by a son, Paul (April) Adkins; and a daughter, Donna Murch; two granddaughters, Laura (Robert) Castellanos and Abigail (Jovan) Cooper; and a grandson, Joshua Adkins. He is also survived by a special son-in-law, Todd Patton; great granddaughters, Nadalee Sluss and Alaina and Aliyah Cooper, whome he affectionately called A1 and A2; great grandsons, JJ Cooper and Michael Castellanos. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Valanie Edwards and her husband David; niece and nephews, Kelli and Bryan Webb and Jeffrey Edwards; and a special great niece and great nephews, Katie and Samuel Webb, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. Eddie was a proud Navy Veteran with twenty years of service. He went on to retire from the United States Postal Service. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 am at Ceredo Christian Baptist Church by Pastor Phillip Stapleton on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Eddie in accordance with his wishes will be buried at sea. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
