Helen Bernice Teel

Helen Bernice Teel, of Kenova, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at King’s Daughter’s Medical Center, Ashland. A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Jerry Matt at 1 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow. Helen was born in Huntington, W.Va. to the late Charles Franklin and Thelma Mae Cornwell Preston. Helen was a homemaker. She was a talented seamstress and cook. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She served the Lord by following her Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland W. Teel; and two sisters, Mary Lake and Laura Taylor. She is survived by one son, Gregory Scott (Francis) Preston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Theda D. Teel and Tracy (Max) Linville; a granddaughter who was the light of her world, Callie Teel Linville; one sister, Theda Marie Simmons; several nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
