A Celebration of Life Service will be held for J. David Smith, 71, on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 2-4 pm at the Reger Funeral Home. David who was formerly of Huntington, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 3, 2012. David attended Marshall Lab School, Kentucky Military Institute and Marshall University. Beyond his career in eyewear sales, he was an avid auto enthusiast and had a passion for grilling on his Big Green Egg, which he enjoyed sharing with his son in laws. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Laura Burgess Smith; his two daughters, Laura Anne Shaw (Chip) of Fairhope, Ala., and Lisa Lippy (Kevin) of Louisville, KY. and three grandchildren; Lauren, Alex and Reid Shaw of Fairhope, Ala.
