James Victor Butcher

James Victor Butcher, 85, of Huntington WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Shepard Butcher, and his loving wife of 53 years, Laura Stapleton Butcher. He is survived by his son James (Karen) Butcher II of Culloden, son Bill (Amber) Butcher of Wayne, and daughter Michelle (Todd) Plumley of Milton; grandchildren Evan (Allie) Butcher of Barboursville, Jonathan Butcher of Parkersburg, Ryan (Maddie) Butcher of Richmond VA, Jenna Butcher of Culloden, Mason Plumley of Milton, Emily Butcher of Wayne, and Luke Butcher of Wayne; one great-grandchild Grayson Butcher of Barboursville.

He was a manager at International Nickel in Huntington WV, where he led the computer operations division for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Huntington WV.

The funeral service will be at Reger Funeral Home, Huntington WV, on Wednesday, January 7th at 1:30 p.m., led by Monsignor Dean Borgmeyer of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Pastor Jim Butcher of Milton Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
