Jeffery Barr Sr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 9, 2026, in West Huntington, West Virginia.
Jeffery was born on November 13, 1957, at St. Mary’s hospital in Huntington. He was preceded in death by parents George Barr and Thelma Cook, Brother George Barr Jr (spouse Julie), Sisters Phyllis (spouse Jerry) Cyrus and Shelia (spouse Jack) Williams, Sister-in-law Carol Barr, as well as wife of 45 years Kathy Chandler Barr.
Jeffery is survived by his brother Pete (spouse Betsy) Barr of South Carolina, sister Candy Barr of West Virgina, and his four children: Jeffery (spouse Cathy) Barr Jr., Kristi (spouse Andy) Cooper, Stephanie (spouse Jeremy) Wallace, and Brian (spouse Elicia) Barr. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Tabitha Wallace, Jessica Wallace, and Jillian (Gracie) Barr and many other honorary children and grandchildren.
Jeffery attended Mountain State Christian School and graduated in 1975. He graduated from Marshall University and Kent college. He went on to have successful career as a master electrician and owner of Soles Electric.
Aside from his work, Jeffery had a passion for playing Santa Claus during the holidays. He brought joy to many children in the community with his festive spirit and kindness.
Jeffery will be remembered for his loving nature, dedication to his family, and his infectious laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be Friday, February 13, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, WV. Funeral services 1:00 p.m. in the Reger Funeral Chapel officiated by Pastor Jerry Shaw. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life gathering at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Mayhle Building of Jackson Avenue Church of God Holiness. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.regerfh.com.
