Julia "Judy" Anetta Ferguson, died Friday, April 10, 2026 at Heritage Center. Judy was born on September 19, 1944 in Bluefield, VA to Dolly Robinson and Randolph (Doc) Holbrook. She attended Gram High School but then moved to Chesapeake, Ohio in 1960 and graduated from Chesapeake High School in 1963. She graduated from Marshall and earned her masters in home economics at The Ohio State University. Her first job teaching was in O'Leary, Ohio. She lived for a period of time in Beckley, WV before moving back to Huntington andn working for the Lawrence County extension service, and finishing her working career at Collins Career Center as a counselor for teenage parents. She enjoyed playing golf at Spring Valley Country Club, painting, sewing, traveling. She also enjoyed her work with her sorority (Beta Sigma Phi), playing bridge at the Underwood Center, and her time with children and singing at First Presbyterian Church. She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Randy Ferguson; her son, Ben (Lisa) Burgess; grandchildren, David and Gretchen. She also leave behind her sister, Gale (Walt) Holbrook; her brother, Tim Holbrook; five nieces and their families; and her cat, Smokey. Friends may call from 4 pm until service time on Friday, April 24, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Doug Pennington and Rev. Mark Boyd on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 5:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church 1015 5th Ave, Huntington, WV 25701. Burial will be held on the following Monday, April 27, 2026 at 1 pm in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, Va. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. The family requests in lieu of flowers to please make a contribution to a charity of your choice in honor of Julia.
