Listen to Obituary

Larry “Little Larry” Adkins, 61, of Huntington, born on January 31, 1965, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16th, surrounded by love.

Larry lived in the home he cherished in Huntington, where he proudly served as the neighborhood “watch,” spending countless hours sitting in his swivel chair or standing at the screen door, watching the world go by. It was one of his favorite ways to feel connected to the people and life around him.

Though Larry was nonverbal and faced significant challenges, he had a heart full of love and kindness. He expressed joy through his smiles, laughter, and gentle presence. Many things could make him happy, but nothing meant more to him than the people who cared for him every day and loved him so faithfully.

Larry especially loved going for car rides, drinking Pepsi, and enjoying rides at fairs and amusement parks. These simple pleasures brought him great joy and are memories that will forever be etched in memory.

More than anything, Larry’s life was a reminder that every person matters. He mattered. He was kind. He loved deeply and with his whole heart. Through his life, he taught those around him patience, compassion, and unconditional love.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Larry and Rita. He is survived by his brother, Norman (Heba) of Sandy Springs, Georgia; his sister, Teresa (Clint) of Huntington, West Virginia; his sister, Ashley (Jody) of Huntington, West Virginia; and his many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, who loved him dearly.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Seth, Larry’s devoted caregiver and best friend, whose love, patience, and companionship meant more to Larry than words could express. Deep appreciation is also extended to Amanda and Kaley for their compassionate care and unwavering dedication.

Larry was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and family member whose presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington, by Pastor Tim Porter. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Friends may call from noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.

He will always be loved, never forgotten, and carried in the hearts of those who knew him.
