Louise Ann Prince, born March 6, 1940, passed away peacefully at her home on February 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Marcum and Gertrude Marcum; her brother, Calvin Marcum Jr.; and her beloved husband of 55 years, Frank Prince, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and memories.

Louise is survived by her two sons, Frank Allen Prince of Westmoreland (Nelie) and Calvin Prince of Kenova (Gerri). She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Justin Prince of Kenova (Amber), Jonathon Prince of Kenova, Brittney Moore of Chesapeake, Ohio (Derrick), and Jessie Childers of South Point, Ohio (Chad), and a loving great-grandmother to Kennadie  Maynard, Aubrey Haugen, Maggie Prince, Stella Prince, Parker Moore, and Kian Prince.

She is also survived by her brother, Sammy Marcum of Kenova (Mary), and her sister, Jenny Prince of Ceredo (Amos), along with many extended family members and friends. Louise also served as a mother figure to several others throughout her life, including Curt Hodges and Joseph McComas, offering guidance, care, and unconditional love.

Louise graduated from Crum High School in 1959 and later earned an associate degree from the Huntington School of Business. A gifted cook with a true servant’s heart, she spent decades working in the food service industry, including time at the Chatterbox Restaurant and with Wayne County Schools. Cooking was more than a job for Louise—it was an expression of love. Her kitchen was always open, and her table always full.

She especially cherished time with her grandchildren, often taking them to the movies—where she was famous for ordering a large popcorn absolutely drowned in butter. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, whether relaxing at the beach, cruising together, or making trips to Atlantic City.

Louise was deeply involved in her community and faith. She served as Past Matron of the Kenova Chapter 111 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a role she held with pride and dedication. She was also a member of the Kenova Church of Christ, where her deep and abiding faith in the Lord guided her life.

Above all else, Louise fiercely loved her family. She was the heart of it—its steady foundation, its encourager, its matriarch. Her strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion will continue to live on through the many lives she touched
