Listen to Obituary

Lucas Dulio Imbrogno left this life on Aug. 12, 2026 at age 36. He was born March 26, 1990, to Douglas John Imbrogno and Lauren “Laurie” Ruth McKeown and leaves behind them and his dear sister Grace Marie Imbrogno McKeown and her fiancé Justin Arnold; extended families on both sides; and a host of loving friends, admirers and collaborators, including the many fans of his long and successful career as an electronic dance music composer, performer, and DJ known as ‘Lucas the Flow.’ Not to mention his beloved fur babies, Yuki, Stormy and Aquarius.

Lucas was a graduate of Cabell Midland High School, and received a Batchelor’s degree in English from Marshall University, although boldly majored in classical guitar his freshman year until he came to his senses. (You must be a guitar monk to pursue classical guitar as a career.) He spent most of his life in West Virginia, except for the last eight years spent living, working, and performing in Columbus, Ohio. He was a seasoned club and festival performer and his music has been heard on more than 30 small labels globally. He worked various restaurant jobs, as a Summer Boy at Capon Springs and Farms, at Otherworld in Columbus and countless music gigs, as his first love was composing, collaborating, and sharing his music with the world.

Lucas was a mentor, positive inspiration and dear and generous friend to many. Among the comments made about him are:

“Lucas was always positive, full of bright and creative energy, with a unique sound and deep passion for music and experimentation. His music and creative work will live on and inspire others.”

“He made a huge impact in my life.”

“He was always someone who made me feel seen, accepted, and loved.”

“He wanted to teach, encourage, and heal others.”

“His desire for creative expression and production was insatiable—exactly what creates an incredible artist.”

“Lucas and his father were among the first people who supported us when the war in Ukraine started, and I will always remember their kindness and support.”

His musical journey was abetted by a trip to Italy in 2008 with his father and cousin, to hear Santana perform in Verona, and where in Rome he got his first tattoo, “La Dolce Vita” (The Sweet Life) of many to follow.

He was greatly inspired by Buddhist teachings in which children are spoken of as among the greatest treasure a person can have, that impermanence is a mark of all existence and yet love does not end with impermanence, however brief and impactful his life was.

A celebration of his life and legacy titled “A Gathering to Celebrate Lucas, Love, and Community” will take place starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October. 17 at West Edge Factory, 1040 Vernon St., Huntington WV 25704 at the western edge of Huntington, W.Va.

A private graveside service will be held at Hebron Lutheran Church, Yellow Spring, W.Va.in the spring of 2027.
