Margaret Lorraine Reger

January 9, 1937 — September 12, 2023

Margaret Lorraine (Triplett) Reger, 86, left this world to be in Heaven with her beloved husband (Henry A. Reger) who passed in 2009.  Margaret was born January 9, 1937, during the devastating 1937 flood in Huntington, and she died on September 12, 2023.  She lived in Lincoln County for three years then moved to Huntington where she remained the rest of her life.  She is also preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Alma (Hazlett) Triplett.  Her siblings Regina (Doris) Maynard; Jennings (Helen) Triplett; Virginia (Dale) Thompson; Ruth (Paul) McCallister and Betty Olsen.  Leaving one surviving brother-in-law Tom Olson.  She was blessed with 5 children: Mitchell Henry (Rose) Reger; Cynthia (Rich) Moline; Angela (Bruce) Morris; Kirk (Barbara) Reger and Daina (Kelly) Wood.  Eight grandchildren: Neal (Anna) Ressler; Sheena (David) Perry; Desirae (Joshua) Johnson; Alexander (Noell) Hamlin; Mackenzie (Zack) Sturgill; Madison (Daniel) Jarrell; Sydney and Shae Reger.  Nine great grandchildren: Claire and Drew Henry Ressler; Regen and Declan Perry; Eloise and Avery Johnson; Jackson, Jonah and Jovie Sturgill.  She was also blessed with a host of nieces, Nephews and cousins whom she loved very much.  Margaret attended Simms and Johnston Elementary Schools, Oley Junior High School, and graduated with her beloved husband Henry from Huntington High School in 1955.  She was in the Glee Club, and a Majorette her junior and senior year of high school.  Her love of music was evident all her life.  She sang on WSAZ TV many times.  She was a contestant and won Talent Hunt multiple times then hosted it several times with Jule Huffman (Mr. Cartoon).  She was also a host on several Telethons.  She was a C&P Bell switch board operator, worked at Singer Sewing Machine Company, Viking Glass and managed Jo Ann Fabrics on 1st Street several years.  She was an amazing seamstress making many of her and her children's clothes throughout the years.  She was involved in the Community Players performing at the Abbott Theatre where she acted, sang and made many elaborate costumes.  Throughout the years she taught piano lessons, was a talented pianist and continued to sing.  She sang with many different bands before forming her own band 'Out of Reach' in May 1985.  They performed locally at many venues performing at weddings, regattas, night clubs and class reunions.  After many years of success with her band she fell back into her love of carpentry, that her father had instilled in her as a young child.  She remodeled her entire home designing it herself and doing a large part of the construction.  One of her most passionate hobbies was bowling and she enjoyed this sport for many years.  She played in multiple leagues at Colonial Lanes, Ted and Eds and Strike Zone.  After the passing of Henry, she used the new friendships from bowling to help her deal with her grief.  Margaret was loved and admired very much by her family, which appreciated all the talents she bestowed on them.  They would not be the hard-working family without her guidance throughout their lives.  Friends may call from 5-7 pm Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington, by Dr. Eddie Gandy.  Committal service will be conducted at 10 am Monday, September 18, 2023, at the Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington.  Contributions may be made to the Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter,
