Marietta Jane Brumbaugh, 91, of Kenova, passed away peacefully at her home on February 26, 2026.
Born in Oil City, Pennsylvania, on February 18, 1935, she was the oldest daughter of the late Ervin Joseph and Mary Katherine Dechant Guth. She was a 1953 graduate of Cranberry High School. On August 14, 1954, Marietta Guth married L. Lloyd Brumbaugh, and they shared 69 years of marriage together.
Marietta was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Huntington for over 50 years, where she also served as an extraordinary minister. She worked for a phone company in Pennsylvania and later alongside her husband, Lloyd, at B&B Food Market in Huntington. She retired at the age of 72 from Nabisco, where she worked as a merchandiser.
She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, crocheting, baking, and watching EWTN. She loved making small gifts for others and giving coins to her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren. Marietta also enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Walnut Creek and Pennsylvania to visit family and friends. Above all, Marietta cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, her friends, and her beloved dog, Macy.
She is survived by her children: Jon Lowell (Anna) Brumbaugh, Mark Leroy (Cheryl) Brumbaugh, Brenda Lena (Richard) Madison, Lisa Linette (David) Fritz, and July Leanna (Joe) Madden.
Her grandchildren are Rachel (John) Lopez, Erica (Kevin) Bricker, Monica Gissel, Matthew Levi (Zoe) Brumbaugh, Diana Brumbaugh, Carl (Jasmine) Fox, Joshua Brumbaugh, Kayla (Logan) McCallister, Kari Brumbaugh, Sara (Kody) Felix, Hunter Brumfield, Colton Fox, Rebekah Brumbaugh, Emma Madden, and Joseph Madden.
Her great‑grandchildren include Cameron Perdue, Zoey Jane Marie Gissel, Branson Bricker, Breyleigh Walters, Bret Bricker, Henry Lopez, Liam McCallister, Kane Lopez, Thorben McCallister, Josie Bricker, Memphis Walters, and Ford Brumfield.
Her step‑grandchildren include Alex Madison, Andy Madison, Damon Moore, Tyler Fritz, Cameron Fritz, Jacob Fritz, and Jordan Fritz. Her step great‑grandchildren include Cory (Fox) Messinger, Liam (Fritz) Smith, and Lillie Kay Sage Fritz.
She is also survived by her sister, Delene (Joe) Foy and three brothers, Dwight (Nancy) Guth, Calvin Guth, and Kurt (Karen) Guth along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L. Lloyd Brumbaugh; her first‑born son, Luke Lloyd (Julie) Brumbaugh; her brothers, Donny (Barbara) Guth and Wilfred (Nancy) Guth; and her sister, Ardelle (Gerry) Leonard.
A family visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m., followed by public visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Reger Funeral Home in Huntington on Sunday March 1, 2026. Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Huntington on Monday March 2, 2026 at 11: 00 a.m., with graveside services to follow at Docks Creek Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, EWTN, and/or St. Ann’s Circle.
