Mark Allen Valdez

Mark Allen Valdez, a 45-year-old resident of Huntington, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, after a brief illness. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Larry Valdez. He is survived by his mother, Olivia Valdez; his brother Michael (Kathi) Valdez; his nephew Tyler Valdez; his niece Hayli Valdez; and his Uncle Phil Rakes.

Mark was a competitive, fun-loving, and caring individual who enjoyed various activities, including racing motorcycles, watching sports, and spending time with animals. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff and doctors at Cabell-Huntington Hospital for providing exceptional care to Mark throughout his illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to pay tribute make donations to the Huntington Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter.

A small private family gathering will be held at a later date and time, which will be determined by the family.
