Mindy Turner

Mindy Kay Turner, 68, passed away on March 8, 2026, at her home.  Mindy was born on October 19, 1957, in Mentor, Ohio, to Charles Raymond Blatt and Maxine Blatt. She grew up in Huntington, West Virginia, where she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School for elementary and junior high. She graduated from Vinson High School with the Class of 1975 and later earned her degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing.  Mindy dedicated her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit at Cabell Huntington Hospital. In addition to her nursing work, she ran a successful embroidery business, where she became affectionately known as “the jacket lady.” She had a deep love for animals, especially horses, which brought her great joy throughout her life. She was married to James Gregory Turner for 34 years. Mindy was the loving mother of Jeremy Watts (Mallory) and Sarah Day (Kevin), and the proud grandmother of Fiona, Emmy, and Rhett Watts and Konor Day. She is also survived by her brothers, Randy Blatt (Rhonda) and Scott Blatt (Brooke), along with several nieces and nephews. Mindy cherished her lifelong friendship with Yvonne Moretti.Mindy found her greatest joy in caring for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She had a gift for making others feel welcomed and included, and throughout the years she provided many of her children’s friends with a safe, fun place to gather and belong. Her kindness, generosity, and open‑door spirit touched countless lives, and her home was always filled with laughter, comfort, and love.She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maxine Blatt. The family would like to extend a special thank‑you to Cabell County EMS and Lavalette EMS for their quick response and dedicated efforts. They also wish to express heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital’s 2WBT unit — especially Kerry, Ashley, and Amaya — for the compassionate care they provided to Mindy following her surgery. Funeral services for Mindy will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Reger Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Msgr Dean Borgmeyer and with   rites performed  by the Nurse Honor Guard. Visiting hours will be from 6-8 pm Thursday March 12 at Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.  Online condolences may be made to her family at www.regerfh.com.
