Robert "Bob" Lee Carrico

Robert “Bob” Lee Carrico, 91, of Huntington (Westmoreland), West Virginia, passed away  peacefully at home on August 7, 2026.  

Born June 13, 1935, Bob devoted his life to service—to his country, his state, his family, and his community. He served nearly 40 years in the West Virginia Army National Guard, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. He also served for 32 years with the City of Huntington Fire Department, retiring as a Captain. Through both careers, Bob earned the respect of those he served alongside and those he served.  

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife and devoted partner, Ann; his parents, Ethel and Herman Carrico; his sister, Doris Ann Carrico; and his brothers, Jack, Jerry, and Richard Carrico.  

He is survived by his daughters, Angela (James) Fain and Charlotte (David) Lawman; grandchildren Eric Fain, Erin (Reinaldo) Swift, Elizabeth Allen, Lara (Bryan) England, Ellen (J.K.) Fallin, Jayne Lawman, and Mary Lawman; great-grandchildren Kaine Allen, Angie Swift,Alex Swift, Amelia Swift, Robert James Mura, Caroline England, Carter England, Everett Fallin, Rowen Fallin, Finleigh Fallin, and Kahlani Lawman; his brother, Fred “Scooter” Carrico, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He appreciated the support of his close friend Roger Mitchell and caregivers – especially in the final years of his life. 

 Above all, Bob wished to be remembered not for his accomplishments or titles, but for his gratitude for God’s forgiveness and grace. He asked that those words be remembered by all who knew and loved him—and wished that same forgiveness and grace for those he leaves behind.

His life was one of service, devotion, humility, and faith. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington, by Pastor Steve Ross and Pastor Bob McGlone.  Burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, August 17, 2026 at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.
