Ronald Yates Lauhon of Huntington, West Virginia, was born on December 28, 1938, and died peacefully May 22, 2026 surrounded by family.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Lauhon of Huntington and his beloved sons, Charles Lauhon of Madison and Michael Lauhon (Melissa Lauhon) of Huntington, as well as his many grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Violet Lauhon, his son David, and his grandson, Harry. He is further survived by his loving relatives and many dear friends.
Ron was born and raised in West Virginia. He met Nancy during his formative years and they were married in 1960, and had three children together. He spent many of his years excelling in archery and spending time hunting and fishing. He won the NFAA National Professional Championship in 1976 and set many state Archery records. He had a deep love of movies and of his wife Nancy’s famous pies. In recent years, he started his own business - Fishing Hole Poles - making custom rods for the ones he loved.
He was a master story teller and had a larger-than-life sense of humor that was infectious to all. He cared so deeply for his friends and family. He will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be on Wednesday May 27, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm Wednesday in the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington.
