Stephen E. Yarian, 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away October 22, 2025 in Huntington after a short illness. He was born October 6, 1945, in Wabash, IN, the son of the late Eddie and Helen (Siders) Yarian. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Kathryn (Foran) Yarian; one daughter, JoAnn (Dan) Kennedy of Hurricane, WV; one son, Jonathan Yarian of Port Orange, FL; three grandchildren, Nathan Yarian, Brittany (Chris) Davis, and Blake Kennedy; 2 great-grandchildren, Colton Davis and Autumn Davis; and two sisters, Christine Perren of Chatsworth, CA and Delores Zelones of Orlando, FL.
He graduated from Huntington High School, Class of 1963 where he played football & basketball. He earned a full scholarship to play football at Michigan State University where he lettered as a Sophomore. MSU is also where he met Kathy and then married in 1966. After an injury cut his football career short, he became a Corporate Pilot and was also a Certified Flight Instructor and Examiner. In a later career, he switched to long haul trucking and even assisted the FBI in an undercover drug sting in Texas. Anyone who knew Steve, knows he was always the life of any gathering, the best story teller, had the biggest laugh, was a loyal friend, and lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his family & friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, from 11:00 am -2:00 pm. A private family graveside service will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to a charity of your choice.
