Tanya Gaye Stewart

Tanya Gaye Stewart, 68, of Huntington went to the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at her home. Tanya was born on November 18, 1957, in Cabell County to late Barbara "Bobby" Jean Blevins and late Irvin Allen Blevins. Tanya attended Huntington High School and was a graduate of Marshall University and worked at Walmart for many years as a Department Manager for the toys section. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved cat Pickles, reading Stephen King books, and spreading the Halloween spirit all throughout the year. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two uncles, Milford "Peck" Rutherford and Scottie Rutherford. She is survived by her husband and son, David and Chase Stewart; four sisters, Cindy Gibbs, Vickie Moore, Deborah Harrison, Theresa Day; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Lori Day; two aunts, Vickie Rutherford and Lula Mae "Perk" Rutherford; and several nieces and nephews, including Jamie Rutherford, Sarah and Chris Day, Jaden, Jasmine and Jarren Rutherford; and her special Walmart family. Visitation will be 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, followed by Funeral services at 12:30 pm conducted by Gordon Rutherford at Reger Funeral Home. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville WV.
