Tom King, 79, passed away Sunday, August 31st at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV. He is survived by his children Tom King (Kellie), Alia Meade, and Rissie Joy (Jon) and his grandchildren Catherine, Christian, Aaron (Caleigh), Noah, and Levi. He is also survived by his nephews and niece Jeff, Jason, Brian, and Stacie. Tom was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and an Army veteran. He enjoyed the circus, sports, walks with his dogs, summer trips to the King Family Reunion in Tennessee, golf, times with family around the backyard fire pit, Halloween, bird-watching, and rooting on the Marshall Thundering Herd. Tom’s passion was performing and entertaining. Known by his clown name, Tom E. Boy, Tom performed at thousands of events all over the country - at schools, libraries, theaters, parties, conventions, circuses, and more - bringing smiles, laughter, and joy to many of all ages. In his three-decade plus clowning career, he rose to the top of a competitive field, twice performing at the White House, earning top honors as Clown of the Year in 2014 as well as a 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. He has graced the cover of Calliope magazine on multiple occasions. Tom also performed regularly as Santa Clause during the holiday season. Tom was a friend and mentor to many in the entertainment industry and considered many of his friends as family. Tom is now at peace and joins his parents, JR and Mildred, and his beloved brothers, Buck and Danny, in an afterlife that will no doubt be rich in their laughter, pranks, and storytelling.
