Vernal Burris Campbell

Vernal Burris Campbell, 88, of Huntington, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A private service will be conducted for the family. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Vernal was born on July 27, 1937 in Huntington, W.V., a son of the late Willard and Estel Oretha Adams Campbell. He was a graduate of the 1956 graduating class at Huntington East High School and Trade School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1962. He was a life member of Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. He attended Pasadena Junior College. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lee Frye; sons, Vernal B. Campbell, Jr. of Carlsbad, California and Alex B Campbell of Coeur d Alene, Idaho; sister, Marilyn Bryant of Lake City, Florida; grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He attended Westmoreland Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to sister-in-law, Betty and very close friends, David and Karen Curnutte. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
