Veronica Ann Ward, 68, entered into the presence of our Lord on November 19, 2025. Born on December 29th, 1956. Veronica is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dale; her children Damon (Kristel) Ward and Amber (Sean) Roberts; and her three beloved grandchildren, Amelie Ward, Bryn Ward, and Rhett Roberts. Veronica is also survived by brother, Bruce (Sharon) Turley and sister, Regina Kennedy. Veronica’s late parents (Bruce Edward Turley and Betty Lou Turley).
A special thank you to Veroncia’s dear family friend, Laura Talbert, her sister-in-law, Pam Ward, and Hospice of Huntington, who all provided exceptional care for Veronica.
Although Veronica was a member of more than one quilting guild, her passion was found within the Creative Quilters of Huntington Guild where she chaired the Veteran Quilts Committee for many years. It was Veronica’s passion to honor veterans in her community and give back something to thank them for their service. This committee makes Americana quilts and delivers them to the VA hospital and Veterans Home in Barboursville. The Guild will carry on with Veronica’s mission of making quilts for local veterans.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. Funeral service will follow at 5 pm conducted by Pastor Danny Thomas and Pastor Danny Damron. Committal service will be at 12:30 pm Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Ward Cemetery, Wayne County, WV. There will be no procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.regerfh.com. Contributions in Veronica’s name to the Quilting Guild may be made via PayPal at Normagensler@gmail.com, please use family and friends in the notation. Donations can also be made to Hospice of Huntington.
